Fri – Mar 30th – How to turn a test score (or any other fraction) into a percentage

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Discover methods and practice turning fractions into percentages

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will be able to turn test scores and other 'out of' type fractions into a percentage

ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITY: watch this video

LESSON: Check more 'easy' fractions to percentages on IWB. Students to try and finish test scores work from yesterdays lesson.

After Lunch, Look at ways of converting difficult fractions using a calculator into percentages.

First convert these decimals into percentages

  1. 0.34
  2. 0.27
  3. 0.6
  4. 0.07
  5. 0.125
  6. 0.5625
  7. 0.567345
  8. 0.785645

Demonstrate how to convert difficult fractions into decimals by thinking of a fraction as decimal sum (or using fractions button) and using the decimal answer off the calculator.
